About canceling orders

Canceling orders in wicadu allows you to correct errors or adapt to changes in customer or supplier requests, keeping your inventory accurate. This feature is important for managing sales or purchases, automatically restoring products to stock upon cancellation. This process simplifies stock management and ensures the integrity of your financial records.

Before you begin

Before canceling an order, confirm the following:

  • The order must be registered in the Sales or Purchases module in wicadu and in the Prepared state.

  • Ensure you have permissions to cancel orders. Check with your administrator if unsure.

  • Review the order details to verify it is the correct one, as cancellation cannot be undone.

  • If the order is Delivered, consider issuing a refund. See: How to issue a refund.

Steps to cancel an order

  1. Access the relevant module:

    Go to the Sales or Purchases section in the wicadu assistant, depending on the type of order you wish to cancel.

  2. Select the order:

    From the In progress section, click the order in the Prepared state to view its details.

  3. Initiate cancellation:

    In the General section, select the Cancel button.

    Note: This button is only available if the order is in the Prepared state.

  4. Confirm cancellation:

    A security prompt will appear. Type CANCEL in the provided field to enable the confirmation button. Then, click Yes, I want to cancel it.

    Note: Upon confirmation, the order status will update automatically, and the products will be restored to the inventory. This action cannot be reversed directly.

Next steps

After canceling the order, consider these actions:

  • Verify inventory:

    Ensure the stock of the products has updated correctly.

  • Notify the customer or supplier:

    Inform relevant parties about the cancellation to maintain clear communication.

    Note: If the order was placed through the store's website (powered by wicadu), the customer will be notified automatically.

  • Add a new order:

Common issues

  • Can't see the Cancel button: Ensure the order is in the Prepared state. If it's Delivered, How to issue a refund instead of canceling.

  • Inventory does not update: Confirm the cancellation was completed and check the stock in the inventory module.
